Do I need to choose a date for my tour?

Yes – when you book, you will need to select the date you’d like to hop on the bus. If you’re touring with us for more than one day, your ticket must be used across consecutive days, and the date you select at time of booking should be the first day of your tour. Some tours also require you to select a time of travel, to secure your seat. If your ticket has extra inclusions, you may also need to book dates and times for these inclusions after your purchase is complete via our Booking Portal. Tell me about the Big Bus Tour of Muscat

Big Bus Tours offers sightseeing tours of Muscat on open-top double-decker buses. You may board the bus at Mutrah Souk in order to view attractions and places of interest along the route. The tour also includes a free walking tour around the Old Quarter.

What can I see and visit?

Bus stops are conveniently located close to popular landmarks and attractions. Visit our Discover Muscat page to learn about what you can see and visit on our tour. You can hop on and off as many times as you wish and are of course welcome to stay on board for the entire route.

On which days does the tour operate?

Big Bus Tours Muscat operate every day of the year, even throughout the summer - all of our buses have custom-designed air-conditioning systems, and we also offer free chilled bottled water to keep you cool even in the heat of the midday sun.

How much does the tour cost?

Is there a discount available for groups?

Is it possible to hire one of the open-top buses for a private event?

Yes, buses are available for private hires and charters. For more information please or to receive a quote, submit an enquiry using our private hires and charters page.

What is the child ticketing policy?

A child ticket is available for children aged between 5 and 15 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 4 years and under may travel free of charge. Strollers and pushchairs must be folded and stowed on the lower deck.

I have a few hours' stopover between my flights and would like to take a tour. Where is the nearest start point to the airport?

Hay As Saruf (Stop #3) is the nearest stop to Muscat International airport, roughly 22km away.

How will I know where to get off?

The pre-recorded commentary on the bus will announce each stop by number and location as the bus approaches. Please refer to our routes & maps information to plan which stops you would like to hop off at.

How do I redeem my ticket?

Show your printed ticket to a member of staff at one of our stops or aboard the bus. They'll issue you a receipt that you'll be able to use to hop on the bus throughout the validity of your ticket.

If you requested to have your tickets sent via SMS, remember that there is no need to print your tickets. Just bring your phone with you with the ticket page open to show it to one of our on street staff who will issue you your ticket.

Are the buses wheelchair accessible?

Yes, most of our buses are wheelchair accessible. Please contact us for further information.

Can I change the date (and time) of my bus tour?

Yes. If you have a ticket that's 'fully flexible' you can change the date (and time) of your bus tour booking without charge. To make the change, please contact us.

If you don't have a 'fully flexible' ticket, we can still change the date of your bus tour, but please be aware that charges may apply.
