About the SkyStar Observation Wheel
Standing 15 stories tall (150 feet), the state-of-the-art SkyStar Observation Wheel features 36 enclosed, well-ventilated gondolas. Each gondola accommodates up to 6 guests, and provides spectacular views of the city and bay. At nighttime, over a million LED lights illuminate SkyStar, making it a sparkling landmark on the waterfront.
A full rotation on SkyStar takes 9–12 minutes. During this time, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Bay, Alcatraz Island, the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Coit Tower and the hills of San Francisco.
After 3 years in Golden Gate Park's Music Concourse, SkyStar Wheel has moved to San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf waterfront, between Pier 39 and Boudin Bakery. The historic F-Line street car has a stop directly in front of SkyStar, and bike parking is available on site. Car parking is available in the adjacent parking lot at 2860 Taylor Street
