Examine the glorious detail in the gothic gradeur of the Houses of Parliament. Tell the time by Big Ben, and check to see whether Parliament is sitting for a night session by the light atop Elizabeth Tower. See the white dome of St. Paul's, spot the bascules rising on Tower Bridge, and try to find all of London's growing collection of curiously shaped skyscrapers. On a clear day, you'll even be able to see Windsor Palace, 40 km away to the east.
Wonder Wheel
The London Eye is the third highest observation wheel in the world. At the very top, you'll be 135 metres (443 feet) above the city. The Eye has 32 glass-lined capsules, which represent the 32 boroughs of London. Like the Eiffel Tower, the Eye was originally meant to be a temporary structure. It opened in 2000 to commemorate the Millennium, but soon proved so popular that it became a mainstay (and icon) of London.
