No Roman holiday is complete without experiencing Rome’s nightlife. Most people think the magic of Rome is limited to the daytime but we’re going to let you in on a little secret; this part of Italy offers one of the most diverse party scenes.

From ice clubs with instagrammable sculptures to escape rooms you’ll be telling all your friends about for weeks to come, here’s our guide to the coolest and quirkiest places to see in Rome.

ICE CLUB ROMA

A bar made entirely out of ice, what’s not to love? This is a venue definitely worthy of an Instagram post or two. Stay cool after a day visiting the city’s historic landmarks, or head over after a late lunch by the Spanish Steps.

Reasonably priced for a one-of-a-kind experience, pay the €15 admission fee and get a thermal cape to keep warm as you pose for pictures. Included in the price is a free cocktail of your choice too.

Our money saving tip: lookout for selected tourist maps that include a coupon for a second free drink!

ESCAPE LOCKED ROOM ROMA

We like to think you can solve a mystery in 90 minutes or less. Prove us right and put your skills to the test with an exercise designed to test your intuition, knowledge and resolve.

With different packages to choose from, including a Breaking Bad themed escape room and another created to look like Leonardo’s Studio, there’s a game for everyone. Perfect for groups of two or more looking to combine a fun activity with a night out.

Will you break free in time?

SHARIVARI

A firm favourite with the locals, Sharivari is one of the best nightclubs in Rome. Drawing in people from all over the city, expect big crowds every night. Known for cleverly reinventing itself with a new theme every evening, no two visits are the same. A must for party people visiting Rome.

Open every night of the week except Monday, don’t be surprised if you find yourself on the dancefloor here more than once.

Our tip: Go on Saturday night for Play House, arguably one of the most fun nights out in Rome.

THE BASEMENT

If you’re seeking a well-priced cocktail, look no further than The Basement. A cross between a friendly neighbourhood pub and a speakeasy, this is a great spot for those wanting a casual cocktail or craft beer in a relaxed environment. You’ll be amazed by their extensive drinks menu and if you’re feeling brave enough, try a cocktail from the ‘Strong’ section.

As cosy as it is modern, and with some of the nicest staff in Rome, this bar is perfect if you’re looking for a one-stop destination that does it all.

AKAB CLUB

For those who want a night out that focuses on the music, Akab Club doesn’t disappoint. With a live music performance every night, guests can look forward to being serenaded by some of Rome’s best up-and-coming artists. As the evening progresses expect a line-up of international DJs guaranteed to get you on the dance floor.

Our tip: locals tend to end an evening here so head to dinner beforehand. Enjoy a delicious plate of pasta or grab a slice of pizza from one of the nearby restaurants before dancing the night away.
