    Between November and March tours run approximately every 20-30 minutes. From April to October tours run approximately every 15 - 30 minutes. Timings are subject to change, so please check with a member of Big Bus staff or contact us with any questions regarding frequency.

    You may start your tour at any of our stops. Please refer to our route information for specific locations.

    The tour takes between 90 minutes to 2 hours. Please allow yourself more time if you plan to hop on and off at any of our stops. Your ticket validity period begins when you redeem your ticket with a Big Bus Tours customer service representative.

Tell me about the Big Bus Tour of Budapest

Big Bus Tours offers Budapest sightseeing tours on an open-top double-decker bus. Commentary is provided in a choice of 23 languages. You may hop on and off at any of the Big Bus stops to visit attractions and places of interest. Included in your tour is a free Danube river cruise, guided walking tours, a panoramic night tour and a free rewards voucher booklet.

What can I see and visit?

Bus stops are conveniently located near popular landmarks and attractions, so you are able to hop-on and hop-off as you please. Visit our top landmarks information to discover what you can see and visit on our tour.

You can hop on and off as many times as you wish and are of course welcome to stay on board for the entire route. Please see our tours information to discover more.

On which days does the tour operate?

The tour of Big Bus runs every day of the year. On national holidays ­- 15th March, 20th August and the 23rd October - we operate revised service.

How will I know where to get off?

The pre-recorded commentary on the bus will announce each stop by number and location as the bus approaches. Please refer to our routes & maps information to plan which stops you would like to hop off at.

Do I need to specify a date of travel?

All the tour tickets we sell on our website are open-dated, meaning you can travel on any day within 6 months of purchase.

If you purchase a ticket that offers validity for more than 24 hours, you must travel on consecutive days.

How do I redeem my ticket?

Show your printed ticket to a member of staff at one of our stops or aboard the bus. They'll issue you a receipt that you'll be able to use to hop on the bus throughout the validity of your ticket.

If you requested to have your tickets sent via SMS, remember that there is no need to print your tickets. Just bring your phone with you with the ticket page open to show it to one of our on street staff who will issue you your ticket.

Is there a discount available for groups?

Yes, discounts are available for groups of 20 or more. To find out more, submit an enquiry using our group booking information page.

Is it possible to hire one of the open-top buses for private events?

What time are the first and last buses?

Generally, the first buses depart around 9am and the last bus times vary depending on the time of year. Please refer to our route information for further timetable details.

Does the Big Bus Tour include entrance to any of the attractions?

With the exception of the free river cruise, two guided walking tours and the night tour, entrance to attractions is not included in the ticket price unless specified. You can purchase tickets for Budapest attractions from Big Bus Tours along with your tour ticket.

What is the child policy?

A child ticket is available for children between the ages of 5 - 15. Children under 5 may travel free of charge. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Where does the river cruise depart from and how long does the trip take?

The river cruise departs from Dock 11, close to Big Bus Stop 18: Petofi Square. One circular trip is 90 minutes.

Where do the walking tours depart from and how long do they take?

The Pest Tour starts at the Big Bus Customer Service Centre, 3 Andrassy Ave at 11:00am on odd days. The Castle District Tour departs from Szentháromság Square at the big monument in front of Matthias Church at 2:30pm on even days. Both walks take approximately 90 minutes. Please ask a member of Big Bus staff for more details.

Where does the night tour depart from and how long does the trip take?

The 1-hour panoramic Night Tour starts at Stop #8: Karoly Korut. Start times vary depending on the time of year, as we aim to coincide with dusk. For up-to-date timings please check with a member of the staff on the day of the tour. The Night Tour operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so please try to arrive in good time to secure your seat.

Are the buses wheelchair accessible?

Can I bring my pet?

Small animals must be carried in an enclosed basket, cage or pet carrier.
