Shoreline Sightseeing has been showcasing the city of Chicago since 1939. Operating across 11 custom-built touring vessels, their Architecture Tours offer amazing views of the city’s famous landmarks with incredible stories told by guides to match. The Architecture River Tour goes down the main branch of the Chicago River, up the north branch to the East Bank Club, and then south past the Willis (Sears) Tower to the old Post Office Building. Each cruise is led by a professional and entertaining guide who provides detailed descriptions of more than 40 landmark buildings.

On the Boat
Most Architecture Cruises are operated on double-decker boats with covered and uncovered seating. Capacity is up to 260 and lifejackets are supplied for every passenger (although only passed out in an emergency). Alcoholic and soft drinks, and small snacks, are available for purchase (by credit card only) on most tours. All boats have restrooms. Leashed dogs are welcome on all boats. Note that tours departing from Michigan Avenue are not accessible for guests in wheelchairs because there are two full flights of stairs to enter and exit the dock at Michigan Avenue.
Ticket Redemption
After purchase, please visit our Booking Portal to select your architecture cruise date/time, and download your cruise boarding pass. If you do not do this, you must present your booking confirmation email to a Big Bus Tours representative in order to collect your cruise boarding pass, before going to the cruise boarding point. Please arrive at the cruise boarding point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected boarding time.
