    The first bus departs Stop #1 (New England Aquarium) at 9:00am. The last bus departs Stop #1 at 4:00pm.

Do I need to choose a date for my tour?

Yes – when you book, you will need to select the date you’d like to hop on the bus. If you’re touring with us for more than one day, your ticket must be used across consecutive days, and the date you select at time of booking should be the first day of your tour. Some tours also require you to select a time of travel, to secure your seat. If your ticket has extra inclusions, you may also need to book dates and times for these inclusions after your purchase is complete via our Booking Portal. What can I see and visit in Boston?

Our tours pass Boston's most iconic landmarks and unique neighborhoods. While on board, you'll see beautiful buildings like the Massachusetts State House, Trinity Church and Quincy Market. Sit back and relax on the upper deck as the tour passes the bustling Boston Common and Public Garden. Along the way, your guide will share facts and stories about Boston's fascinating history, distinctive architecture and dynamic culture.

Do tours operate daily?

No. Our bus tours operate Wednesday through Sunday only. In very rare circumstances our service might be curtailed or suspended due to city events or poor weather. Please visit our service information page for up-to-date information about our current service.

How long does the tour take?

The tour duration is 90 minutes.
If you have a ticket that permits hop-on, hop-off travel, please allow for more time if you plan to hop on and off at any of our stops.

How do I redeem my ticket?

To redeem your ticket, please go to Stop #1 (New England Aquarium) 15 minutes in advance of your chosen tour time. Present your booking confirmation (printed or on a device) to a uniformed Big Bus Tours staff member in exchange for your ticket.

Is there a discount available for groups?

Yes, discounts are available for groups of 20 or more. To find out more, submit an enquiry using our group booking information page.

Are buses available for private hires and charters?

Yes, buses are available for private hires and charters. For more information please or to receive a quote, submit an enquiry via our private hires and charters page.

Are child tickets available?

Yes. Child tickets are available for children between the ages of 3–12. Children 2 and under may travel free of charge but must sit on their caregiver's lap when the service is full. Buggies and pushchairs must be stowed on the lower deck. All children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Are buses wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all our buses are wheelchair accessible.

I bought a ticket for someone else, but it has my name on it, is this ok?

Yes. The person taking the tour will need to present the booking confirmation (printed or on a device) to a uniformed staff member before hopping on the bus. Staff will scan the QR code and present the guest with a ticket that can be used to board the tour. Tickets must be retained for hopping on the bus - please note that tickets cannot be replaced if lost.

Can I change the date (and time) of my bus tour?

Yes. If you have a ticket that's 'fully flexible' you can change the date (and time) of your bus tour booking without charge. To make the change, please contact us.

If you don't have a 'fully flexible' ticket, we can still change the date of your bus tour, but please be aware that charges may apply.

Is food and drink permitted on the bus?

Drinks in closed containers are permitted. Food is not permitted.

Are pets permitted on the bus?

No, pets are not permitted on board the bus. Service animals (e.g. guide dogs) are permitted on board the bus to support guests with special needs. Please note that the care for and supervision of a service animal is solely the responsibility of its owner, and we reserve the right to exclude any service animal whose behaviour disrupts the tour or poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others on board.
