Danube Tower Highlights

On a clear day, you can see for up to 80 kilometres from the observation deck. Spot landmarks like Schonbrunn Palace, Belvedere Castle, the Wiener Riesenrad, Karlskirche, Hofburg Imperial Palace, Augarten and more.
History of Danube Tower
The Danube Tower, located in Donaupark, was built to honour the 1964 Viennese International Horticultural Show. It was completed within 18 months, and during construction it grew at 5 metres per day to an eventual overall height of 252 metres. The main observation deck is at 155 metres. There are 779 steps to the observation deck, but most opt for the express lift service, which whisks visitors to the top within 35 seconds.
A Meal to Remember
Danube Tower offers two different revolving eateries. The Cafe is situated at 160 metres, and offers a unique twist on the traditional Viennese Coffee House experience. The menu features a selection of pies and classic Austrian desserts, and small dishes like salads, soups and panini. The coffee house is open from 10:00am to midnight, and is the perfect place to relax and take in the views over a nice hot drink. If you'd like to make an occasion of your visit, book a table at the restaurant. At 170 metres, the restaurant offers visitors the highest dining experience in Vienna. Enjoy classic Austrian dishes with a modern twist, prepared from locally-sourced ingredients by expert chefs.
Please print out your ticket voucher and present at the customer service desk before taking the elevator to the top of the tower. The tower is open between 10:00am and midnight every day, but is sucject to closure for events and other activities. The last elevator ride up the tower is at 11:30pm.
