Sandeman's Montmartre Walking Tour Highlights

Soak up the unique Parisian atmosphere of Montmartre with SANDEMAN's walking tours. After meeting your guide near the Moulin Rouge, you'll wind your way through cobblestone streets in this historical Red Light district - past terrace cafes, traditional can-can clubs and bars, and then up the hill towards the Basilica Sacré Coeur - the highest point in Paris. On this 2-hour tour, you'll see the neighbourhoods that were both home and inspiration to famous artists like Vincent Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali, and discover landmarks like Montmartre's last vineyard, The Pink House of Maurice Utrillo, and Café des Deux Moulins from the film Amélie.

What You'll See

During your 2-hour walking tour, your guide will point out places like The Artists' Square, the last surviving windmill in Paris, Montmartre Vineyard (the last authentic vineyard in Paris), Picasso's studio, Van Gogh’s House, Café des Deux Moulins (from the movie Amélie), The Pink House of Maurice Utrillo, Renoir's world-famous painting Bal au Moulin de la Galette and Basilica Sacré Coeur (a beautiful church with the highest view of Paris). You'll also visit Paris’ historic Red Light District, home to La Place Dalida (dedicated to one of Paris' most famous gay icons), The Moulin Rouge and Lapin Agile - the cabaret bar where Picasso often exchanged paintings for food.

Where To Go

The Montmartre walking tour departs at 6:00pm daily from outside the Starbucks coffee shop at 5 Place Blanche (opposite the Moulin Rouge). Look out for your Sandeman's guide in red Sandeman's t-shirts. Please arrive in time to show the guide your ticket voucher.

Important Information

The Sandeman's Montmartre Walking Tour takes approximately 2 hours and is conducted in English. Tours operate in all weather and on public holidays. Please wear comfortable footwear. Your guide will determine which sights you'll see - please note that this may be dependent on weather, traffic and other events. Guests under 13 are welcome to participate for free, and guests 13 and over will need a ticket.
