The DeYoung's dramatic new copper facade is set off by a carefully landscaped sculpture garden to blend with and complement the surrounding Golden Gate Park. Windows flow through the building like rivers, drawing the outside in, and diffusing boundaries between nature and the artifacts within. The Legion of Honor Museum is housed in a French neoclassical building that stands sentinel over the city, the Golden Gate, and the Pacific Ocean beyond.
