Glass Walkway

Experience completely unique views of London from the Glass Floor in the Tower Bridge walkways. Look down to see London buses, black cabs and pedestrians cross the bridge, 40 metres below. The glass floor is 11 metres long, 1.8 metres wide and comprised of panels weighing 530 kilograms each. If you're lucky, you'll even see the bascules raise to allow a boat to pass under the bridge.

Victorian Engine Rooms

After crossing the walkways, you can journey down into the atmospheric Victorian engine rooms, home to beautifully preserved steam engines that were used to raise Tower Bridge's bascules before the introduction of electricity. These coal-driven steam engines were once maintained by a staff of 80, who worked to ensure the engines could raise the bascules up to 30 times a day. Restored to their original splendour, these engines are a marvel that's not to be missed.
