Los Angeles is the city that knows how to throw a party, so what better place is there to enjoy a beer festival. A popular themed event you can find around the world, from Oktoberfest in Germany and the Great British Beer Festival in London to Australia’s Bitter and Twisted International Boutique Beer Festival, the one thing they all have in common is passion for a cold one. And where there’s beer, there’s always something tasty on offer to wash it down with along with entertainment.

Whether you’re a local, on a city break or just passing through, here are just some of the reasons why we think the LA Beer Festival is one not to miss:

The event

80 breweries and 200 beer and food trucks are appealing statistics. Tickets that include international and domestic beer samplings; Food from around the globe ranging from Indian to Japanese, and Peruvian to burgers; Live bands, a duelling piano bar playing everything from today’s hits to the classics, and DJ sets to set the tone; A photo booth to document the fun in case your memory is a little sketchy in the morning... For one day every year at the end of September (literally a few hours!) the LA Beer Festival is a sell-out event and it’s clear to see why.

Then what?

When you’ve sunk a cold one (or three), devoured a posh burger and danced along to some old school tunes, there’s still so much on offer in this city to fill your time. Famous landmarks that tell the history of this place like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, beaches to sun yourself at and iconic piers to spend the evening playing on. For a full itinerary, check out our guide to 3 Days in Los Angeles. We can take you to all these places on a Big Bus tour, just hop on!
