Dubai has taken a favourite British past time and has made it bigger, and some may say better, in true Emirate style. Afternoon tea in Dubai is a fabulous way to spend a few hours when the temperatures outside are soaring. A far more refined affair than brunch, alongside your choice of loose-leaf tea, you’ll get dainty sandwiches, delicious cakes and tasty scones. All served in china as pretty as the food.

Here’s our roundup of the top five places we recommend you take afternoon tea in Dubai:

At.mosphere at Burj Khalifa

Scale your way up 122 floors to reach the stunning At.mosphere lounge at the Burj Khalifa, and experience high tea that is head and shoulders above the rest. With three menu options to choose from, your savoury round is followed by an exquisite dessert selection featuring fine pastries and traditional favourites. A classic afternoon tea with a subtle Arabic twist in the tallest restaurant in the world.

Fortnum & Mason

If you’re looking for a very British affair, head to Fortnum & Mason for afternoon tea in Dubai. Located Downtown, you can spend hours browsing the quant selection of artisan tea, spreads and fine crockery before you even sit down. The offering is very traditional, think finger sandwiches filled with cucumber and mint, coronation chicken and smoked salmon with lemon dill. With fluffy scones to follow and cakes to finish.

On a cooler day, take afternoon tea in Dubai at The Tea Lounge. The outdoor terrace looks out over the Jumeirah Beach skyline and the atmosphere of the venue is as equally relaxed. The tea on offer is by international designer tea brand Tchaba, and the selection of loose-leaf varieties is extensive.
