About the Berlin Festival of Lights
See the city's landmarks illuminated at dusk
For nearly 20 years, the Festival of Lights has been illuminating Berlin's iconic landmarks for ten days in mid-autumn. Over 70 of the city's famous monuments are lit with radiant beams, special projections and other innovative technologies, in brilliant displays conceptualised by local and international artists. Illuminations begin around 7:00pm and go on til midnight, shining on landmarks including Berlin Dom, Funkturm and Brandenburg Gate. The 19th Berlin Festival of Lights takes place between 6–15 October 2023 under the theme 'Colours of Life', showing through light art how multifaceted and beautiful life is in a diverse society. Our special Festival of Lights Big Bus Night Tour will give you top-deck views of the illuminations and unmissable photo opportunities, with live guides sharing facts and stories about Berlin and the Light Festival throughout the journey.
