1. Tell me about the Big Bus Tour.

The Big Bus Tour is a sightseeing tour of Shanghai on an open-top double decker bus. Commentary is provided in a choice of languages. You may hop on and off at any of our 22 stops to visit attractions and places of interest. The Tour also includes a cruise of the Huangpu River, entrance to the Jade Buddha Temple and Madame Tussaud’s Wax Works.

 

2. What can I see and visit ?

There are 22 locations where you can hop on and off the bus. You can hop on and off as many times as you wish and are of course welcome to stay on board for the entire circuit. Please see the Tour Highlights to discover more.

 

3. On which days does the tour operate?

The Big Bus Tour runs every day of the year.

 

4. How often do tours run?

Tours run at 30 minute intervals on the Shanghai City Tour (Red Route) and hourly on the Pudong Tour (Blue Tour). Tours start at 9.00hrs. The last sightseeing bus tour departure is at 17.00hrs.

 

5. Where can I start the tour?

You may start your tour at any of our 22 ‘hop-on, hop-off’ points. The main starting point for the sightseeing tour is Renmin Square next to the New World Shopping Centre (by Metro exit 7).

 

6. What time does the tour starts?

You can start the tour at anytime between 09.00 and 17.00hrs. Your ticket is valid for 24 hours, so if you start your tour in the afternoon, you can use the tour inclusions until the same time the following day.

 

7. How long does the tour take?

Your ticket is valid for 24 hours. A full circuit on the Shanghai City Tour (Red Route) takes approximately 150 minutes. A full circuit on the Pudong Tour (Blue Route) takes approximately 60 minutes. Your 24 hour ticket provides plenty of time to use the hop-on, hop-off facility.

 

8. Is there a commentary available in my language?

The sightseeing tour offers a recorded commentary in your choice of Mandarin, English, French, Spanish, Russian, German, Japanese and Korean. You will be able to collect your complimentary headphones when you board the bus.

 

9. Where can I buy a ticket for the tour?

You can purchase tickets either on this website, at any Big Bus sales counter, on the bus at any hop-on hop-off point, at most hotels or by calling us on ( 86) 21 6351 5988 971.

 

10. How much does teh tour cost?

Adults RMB 300 (44US$)
Children RMB 200 (5-15 incl.) (29US$)
Children up to 4 years of age travel free of charge.
 

 

11. I have a few hours stopover between my flights and would like to take a tour.

Where is the nearest start point to the airport?

If you would like to take the tour during a stopover, we recommend you allow 60 minutes to get to and from the airport, and for at least 150 minutes to take the Shanghai City tour. Our stop at Renmin Square, (opposite the New World Shopping Centre, by Metro Exit 7) is usually the most  convenient for either of Shanghai’s airports.

 

12. Is there a discount available for groups?

Yes, discounts are available for groups of ten or more. For more information on group sales please contact us.  

 

13. Is it possible to hire one of the open-top buses for a private event?
