Enjoy a Comfortable Tour of Muscat
An ‘air-conditioned open-top’ bus sounds like a contradiction in terms, but Big Bus Tours acknowledges that Muscat’s warm climate would make some visitors reticent about spending a day on an open-top vehicle.
The Big Bus fleet has therefore been designed to provide you with the comfort of a fully air conditioned cabin on the first third of the upper deck with large windows for uninterrupted views.
The middle section is open air with a sun canopy, while the rear end is open to the sun for those wishing to enjoy the weather and a traditional open-top experience.
Hop-on, Hop-off
The hop-on, hop-off facility is a great benefit of the Muscat bus tour that enables you to explore the sights at your leisure. There are 10 locations where you can get off the bus to visit attractions or explore places of interest.
This facility gives you the freedom to plan your own itinerary and explore the cities' spectacular landmarks and exciting attractions for as little or as long as you like. You can get off and on the open-top buses as many times as you want within the validity of your ticket.
The Heritage Walk
The free walking tour will resume in November 2013.
The oldest
part of Muscat interweaves the history, local life and culture of the city and
maintains its old Arabian charm. On this walking tour, discover two ancient
forts, the magnificent Sultan Al Alam Palace, a concealed harbour, a Persian
Style Mosque, the Royal Court and many museums all set in a quaint
neighbourhood.
The Heritage Walk tour operates between November and May, leaving daily at 3pm from Al Alam Royal Palace (Stop 9), finishing at the same stop.
