1. Tell me about the Big Bus Tour of Hong Kong.

The Big Bus Sightseeing Tour of Hong Kong provides access to 3 sightseeing routes taking you to all of Hong Kong’s main attractions, landmarks and places of interest. The Tour provides a personal commentary in a choice of 10 languages. Convenient break points allow you the flexibility to explore the city at your leisure. A Night Tour of Kowloon is also available, providing the opportunity to see this vibrant city at night.  

 

2. Do I have to book in advance?

We strongly suggest you book through our website for a fixed date ticket to benefit from our special on-line discount.  However, you are also welcome to buy tickets at the time of travel.

 

3. Where can I buy a ticket?

Ticket can be purchased from:

4. Do I have to specify a date of travel?

If you book on-line, you have the option of a “fixed date” or “open date” ticket. 
If you purchase a “fixed date” ticket, you must start your tour on the specified day.
If you select an “open date” ticket, you can redeem your tour on any day.

 

5. Where can I start the tour?

You can start the Big Bus Tour at any of the break points/stops.
The Night Tour of Kowloon starts at Stop 10, Tsim Sha Tsui East Promenade (public coach pickup area by the end of Avenue of Stars adjacent to outdoor Starbucks).

 

6. What time are your first and last buses and frequency of your tours?

Red Route:    First Departure 09:30, Last Departure 18:00, Frequency: every 30 mins.
Blue Route:   First Departure 10:00, Last Departure 18:00, Frequency: every 30 mins.
Green Route: First Departure 09:45, Last Departure 16:15, Frequency:6 departures a day.
Night Tour:    Departure 19:00.

 

7. How will I know where to get off?

Our tour commentary has announcements to advise you when the bus has reached our break points/stops.

 

8. On which days does the tour run?

The Big Bus Sightseeing Tour of Hong Kong operates every day of the year, weather and road conditions permitting.  Our uniformed staff will provide you with information should there be any change in operating time, frequency or road diversion.

 

9. How do I get a brochure?

You can collect a brochure from any Big Bus Sales point, on the bus, from your hotel concierge or from the Hong Kong Tourist Board’s Visitor Information Centre. 

 

10. What is the Child policy?

Children aged between 5 and 15 years are offered a concessionary fare.  Children must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged between 0 and 4 years may travel free of charge if accompanied by a dedicated adult.

 

11. Is it possible to hire the bus for a private event?

Buses are available for Corporate Charter or Private Hire.  Please take a look at the Private Hires page or contact us for more information.

 

12. How often does the Star Ferry depart?

The Star Ferry departs approximately every 15 minutes.

 

13. Where does the Star Ferry depart from and how long does the trip take?

The Star Ferry departs from Central Star Ferry Pier 7 and Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier.  The journey across Victoria Harbour takes approximately 15 minutes.

 

14. Do I need to line up at Peak Tram?

With the Peak Tram ticket included with your Big Bus Tour, you can walk straight to the platform for the tramway and avoid the queue at the counter.

 

15. Do I have to use the Peak Tram ticket on the same day of the tour?

You do not have to use the Peak Tram on the same day as your Tour. You should collect your return ticket for the Peak Tram from the Big Bus member of staff at the Peak Tram Lower Terminus on the day of your Tour, but you then have the option to keep the tickets and use them anytime within one month.

 

16. How often does the Peak Tram depart?

The Peak tramway departs approximately every 15 minutes. The journey up to Victoria Peak takes about 10 minutes.
