    Educational and informative pre-recorded commentary is available on board all buses. Tune in via complimentary headphones to learn secrets and stories about the rich history of Rome, its famous inhabitants, dazzling architecture and vibrant culture.
    Commentary is available in the following languages:

    Your complimentary headphones are distributed when you board the bus. They are brand new and you are welcome to keep them! Alternatively, please feel welcome to use your own wired headphones with a jack connector.

    You can purchase tickets on this website, or from a member of our Big Bus street sales team, or at any of our two kiosks (one is located at Termini station and the other is located at the Colosseum), or from our trusted merchant partners.

    Simply show your ticket to a Big Bus Tours staff member at one of our stops or aboard the bus. They'll issue you a receipt that you'll be able to use to hop on the bus throughout the validity of your ticket.

Do I need to choose a date for my tour?

Yes – when you book, you will need to select the date you’d like to hop on the bus. If you’re touring with us for more than one day, your ticket must be used across consecutive days, and the date you select at time of booking should be the first day of your tour. Some tours also require you to select a time of travel, to secure your seat. If your ticket has extra inclusions, you may also need to book dates and times for these inclusions after your purchase is complete via our Booking Portal. You'll pass famous landmarks like the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, Piazza Venezia, Vatican City, and more, with stops located nearby so you can hop off the bus to explore them at your own pace. During the tour, you can tune in to pre-recorded commentary, which is available in a variety of languages.

How long does the tour take?

Our Red Route tour duration is approximately 98–103 minutes. Please allow for more time if you wish to hop on and hop off the bus.

How much does the tour cost?

Our bus tour ticket prices vary depending on how long the ticket is valid for, or whether there are any attractions included. Please visit our Tickets & Passes page to see all our bus tour tickets.

What time are the first and last buses?

Our first and last bus tour times change seasonally. Please see our Red Route Timetable page for up-to-date first and last bus times for each stop.

Are child tickets available?

Yes. Child tickets are available for children between the ages of 5–15. Children under 5 travel free of charge. All children under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I hire a bus for a private event?

Are the buses wheelchair accessible?

Yes, most of our buses are wheelchair accessible.

Can I change the date (and time) of my bus tour?

Yes. If you have a ticket that's 'fully flexible' you can change the date (and time) of your bus tour booking without charge. To make the change, please contact us.

If you don't have a 'fully flexible' ticket, we can still change the date of your bus tour, but please be aware that charges may apply.

Can I make a group booking?

Yes, we welcome group bookings. For more information or to receive a quote, please submit an enquiry via our Group Bookings page.

Where can I hop on the bus?

You can hop on the bus from any stop. Please visit our Find a Bus Stop page to find your nearest stop.

Can I use my ticket on other bus tours?

Yes. Big Bus Tours Rome tickets are now also valid for use on Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi (ORP) buses. To board an ORP service, please present your booking confirmation to a Big Bus Tours staff member in exchange for your bus tour ticket receipt. You can then use this ticket receipt to hop on and off the buses. Read more on our Service Partnership info page.

How do I take my free walking tour?

Your ticket entitles you to a free walking tour package download from the Vox City App. Your download code will be supplied on the printed ticket receipt you get when you redeem your ticket with our on-street staff, and on the seatback in front of you on board a Big Bus Tours bus. Simply download the Vox City app, activate the code on your ticket receipt/seatback, and enjoy your walking tours! For more information, please visit our Walking Tours page.

Can I bring a pet on board the bus?

Yes, small pets without muzzle are permitted on board as long as they are held by their owner. Medium and large sized dogs are permitted on board by they have to wear a muzzle mandatorily.

Can I bring luggage and strollers on the bus?

Yes, luggage and strollers are allowed on board but they have to be left downstairs.
